The antique Hunting style buffet was crafted in France around the year 1880 and it is signed by master furniture maker Dumarest from the French city of Lyon. The buffet is carved in solid oak wood with the gorgeous patina of age. The lower cabinet door is handsomely carved with a charming pair of quails pecking around in the foliage. On the two curved side doors you will find carvings of plump bunches of grapes. The grapes are very apt because this buffet is also a tribute to Bacchus, the ancient god of wine! An amazing carved face of Bacchus peers out from the crest at the top of the buffet, clearly wanting to ensure that everyone at the party is having a good time! This is certainly a buffet for wine lovers to celebrate, and a great talking point at your next wine and cheese gathering. The upper cabinet door is just as spectacular as the lower door, with its exquisite etched glass panel. Inside you will find plenty of storage for stemware and other serving pieces, and we especially admire the curved side doors which open out so delightfully, and the curved side drawers.
