Comment: We have brought many beautiful antique French Renaissance buffet sideboards back from France over the years, but this handsome antique buffet in the Hunting style is exceptional on many levels. The splendid antique French Hunting buffet dates to 1880 and it features abundant carvings in the solid oak wood. The carvings include animals typical of the Hunting style, including fish, bird and rabbit carvings on the doors. Other carvings include cows, swirling oak leaves and acorns, as well as handsome galleries of spindles on the curved side shelves, topped with finials. The upper cabinet of the buffet or sideboard boasts large glass doors so you can see your favorite tureens, bowls and other china or stemware stored within. This is a terrific display cabinet! The sides of the buffet sideboard are curved, adding to the noble silhouette. If you are seeking a superb antique buffet to decorate your dining room or great room as well as provide ample storage, this splendid antique French Renaissance buffet in the Hunting style will become a family heirloom.
