This very nice and very old set of 6 antique oak French Hunting style dining chairs looks as impressive today as it did when the chairs were crafted for an elegant family in France around 140 years ago. The set of 6 Renaissance dining chairs from France carved in the Hunting style dates to 1880. Crafted in oak wood with neutral cane or rattan seats and back panels, the six dining chairs feature a cascading leafy vine in the chair back, accented by pretty clusters of grapes. This is a lovely choice of dining room furniture for a wine lover! The finely carved entwined leaves on the crest rails create a noble silhouette on the chairs while barley twist posts frame the chairs for extra textural and visual interest, topped with a block carved with a flower. The twists and floral blocks repeat on the chair legs. The exceptionally crafted set of 6 antique French Hunting chairs will be a beautifully decorative addition to your Traditional or Hunting style dining room. Condition: Shows normal wear due to age and use. One seat has a hole that could possibly be patched. One spindle has been professionally repaired. Color variation in one seat. Two chairs are missing the cane trim around the edges.
