Comment: The lively carvings of the Hunting style wild forest animals at the base of this incredible antique French Renaissance dining table are so charming and vivid in their depiction, they will create a great sense of character in your dining room. The antique dining table dates to 1880 and it was crafted in France in the Hunting style that was originally made popular by King Francis I. As such, the oak wood table boasts carvings on the center pedestal of four animals that are emblematic of the royal hunt. Leaping out of the table pedestal you will see a wild boar, a stag, a deer and a dog. The animals are wonderfully carved with a realistic look. The dining table is also carved with an attractive repeat pattern on the table top rim to add yet more visual interest. The oak wood of this handsome antique French Hunting dining table has a great patina of age from its service over more than a century. Imagine your next family gathering and how merry it will be as you gather round this handsomely rustic antique French Hunting style dining table.
