Comment: Magnificent carvings, splendid barley twist posts and noble lions make this antique French Renaissance Hunting arm chair a marvelous choice for your home. The antique arm chair was crafted in France around the year 1890 and it is constructed in the Renaissance Hunting style with an oak wood frame and beautiful brown or tan leather upholstery on the seat and on the chair back panel. The chair rail rises to a beautiful carved arch guarded over by two fierce lions, evoking the regal heraldic crests of aristocratic European families. The leather panel on the back is framed with attractively shaped carvings and bold barley twists. A carved rosette block and finial top the chair posts. You will also notice the nicely carved scrolled arms which are also upholstered in leather for comfort. Nail head trim around the leather back panel adds to the sense of majesty on this terrific and unusual antique arm chair. The Hunting style arm chair will create a regal impression at the head of the table in your dining room or perhaps you will enjoy it as a foyer chair or as seating behind your desk in your home office or study.
