If you have ever enjoyed a game of boules - also known as petanque or bowls - this delightful antique French Brittany nightstand or bedside table will be a treasure of a find for you. We have had the pleasure of importing many antique Brittany nightstands from France but this one is very unusual, with its carvings of French country folk gathered around to play a game of boules. Notice the amazing realism of the carving of the man throwing his ball to try to get closest to the target. His movement is incredibly lifelike, as are the other figures. The antique nightstand dates to the year 1890 and it is crafted in chestnut wood that is beautifully aged over more than a century. Other Brittany style details include the spindles on the top of the nightstand. This gorgeous Brittany nightstand will add great character to any bedroom, but we will not be surprised if you choose to use the antique nightstand for very decorative storage in a hallway, foyer, living room or other space.
