Comment:
This fabulous set of 4 antique French dining chairs is very handsomely designed and carved in the Renaissance or Henry II style. Dating to 1900, the oak chairs are carved with two birds nestled in the intricate flower design on the chair back, and a pair of lions gaze out from the finials topping the chair posts. Attractive brass handles on the top of the chairs make this a truly unusual set that would look superb around your antique or reproduction oak dining table. The chairs are further decorated with a gallery of spindles set in the chair back and a nicely turned stretcher. The lavishly shaped chair legs feature a carved bell or tassel just below the seat for a somewhat regal effect. The French dining chairs measure 39.50 inches high, 18 inches wide, and 16.75 inches deep. There's plenty of pomp and plenty of pleasure in this beautiful set of 4 antique carved dining chairs or side chairs, which enjoy a seat height of 18.25 inches.
