The carved walnut buffet was created in France around the year 1890 and it is crowned with a mischievous jester smiling down from the top of the cabinet. A couple of playful jesters below add to the fun. They are so beautifully carved that you can see every detail of their fingers and every fold of their costumes. A red marble counter top provides a handsome space for your serving dishes or cheese board while the plate rack is the perfect place to display your favorite platters. Swirls of flowers carved across the front of the cabinet are typical of the French Renaissance style of antique furniture and the carved turned posts supporting the upper cabinet add to the regal air. This outstanding heirloom buffet or server is finished off with delightful hardware notice the pretty locks and the smiling faces on the curved cast metal handles. Item Specifics:Shows normal wear to the finish and miscellaneous nicks, dings, and scratches due to age and use. The is an old restored break to the marble top that can be touched up to be less noticeable to the eye, but the hand will always feel it. There is damage to the escutcheon on the right lower door.
