Comment: There is much visual impact in this antique French desk in the Renaissance Hunting style, and those carved winged beasts or griffins on the crest know that they are getting all the attention! The desk was crafted in France around the year 1880 in solid oak wood. The French Renaissance desk is carved in typical rustic Hunting style, including the back rail which is the piece de resistance. It is a sculptural artwork in itself, with a pair of carved figures of winged beasts flanking a central shield. The beasts look like the legendary griffin, griffon, or gryphon, which is a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. How much more majestic could this antique French desk look' Aside from the decorative appeal, the Hunting style desk offers plenty of storage for your pens, papers and desk accessories in the drawers and a large surface to work on in your home office, study or library.
