Comment: Each chair in this set of 6 beautifully carved vintage Renaissance dining chairs from France is carved with a pair of noble mythical beasts standing guard on the back panel. They could be winged lions guarding your dining room, and they also resemble the mythical gryphons or griffins. You decide! Either way these sturdy vintage French dining chairs in the Renaissance style are an exceptional find, direct imported from France and dating to around 1950. The carved beasts flank an aristocratic shield design, typical of a classic European crest. The shield motif is echoed in the front stretcher between the two front legs, adding another lovely design touch. Carved in oak wood, the chairs are upholstered in brown on the seat. The vintage French Renaissance chairs could be the perfect choice for your dining room or picture them in your home pub area or games room, adding an Old World vibe that will be full of atmosphere. The finely-carved back panel on these distinctive vintage dining chairs from France will make all your friends pause to imagine the story behind the winged beasts.
