Top 12 Antiques and Decor Blog Posts 2013: Part 2
A few days ago we shared with you six of our most popular antiques and decor blog posts of 2013. Here's the Part 2 we promised, with the remaining six of our (and your) favorite 12 posts. It's hard to pick just 12 posts out of a whole year of tips about antiques and decor, never mind all our client spotlights showing our customers’ homes. But we hope you enjoy these - Happy new year!
7. Add Warmth and Mood to Your Interior Design with Wood

8. French country furniture in Alabama
On a trip to deliver an antique Louis XV bedroom set to Sandy and Brent H. in Northport, Alabama, we enjoyed seeing their gorgeous collection of French antique furniture. (We also enjoyed the delicious pot roast and cake that Sandy cooked for us. There are perks to this job!) Sandy and Brent have been customers since 2010, and it was terrific to share the photos of their interior design in my post touring their French Country decor home.
9. How to Sell Antiques and Vintage Items
We receive many emails from folk wondering how to sell antiques they've inherited or want to sell for various reasons. So I wrote up my tips on how to sell antiques and vintage items. It including finding out the value, selling options, and advice for selling online. This was a follow-up to one of our most popular 2012 antiques and decor blog posts on how to buy antique furniture online safely and without fear!
Many of our clients are working on Victorian restorations and our client Sal S., a busy entrepreneur in New York, is one of them. He is doing a beautiful job restoring his Victorian home that had been neglected for years. Our client spotlight on Sal's Victorian restoration shares how he actually took a road trip to see all our antique furniture and choose in person for his splendid Victorian dining room! Readers of our antiques and decor blog may remember that Angela M. in Texas also had a great story to tell about why she chose antique brittany furniture for her Victorian restoration.
Many of our customers enjoy travel to Europe. We wrote several posts this year about historic places to stay or visit that are decorated with wonderful antique furniture. Our post on Château de Bagnols in France provided plenty of inspiration for those of us with regal tastes, even if you don't get to stay in this 13th century castle hotel! Closer to home, Hillwood Estate in Washington, DC, also has a fascinating story and an array of antique Fabergé and religious treasures.
We are pretty active with our Pinterest boards and we had a lot of fun browsing around Pinterest to share this post on decorative stair ideas. They turn even the simplest staircase into a unique design feature with just a little creativity.
Finally, I can't resist showing you this photo of Ozzy, fondly known as Mr. Kittles, that we posted on our Facebook page. He is just one of our 8 cats and dogs who 'help' us in the gallery. Mr. Kittles has his own special way of telling me that "It's time to stop working! Come and play with me!" A portion of all our sales benefit the PETS Inc. no-kill animal shelter, so we're grateful to all our customers in 2013 who helped us help homeless pets. I hope you enjoyed our recap of our top 12 antiques and decor blog posts of 2013, and that you and yours have a happy, healthy, and beautifully decorated 2014!
