THE ZAG RUG WAS PROBABLY HOOKED IN NEW ENGLAND IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY. IT HAS A NAVAJO RUG FEEL TO IT. MANY NAVAJO RUGS WERE SOLD TO PEOPLE TRAVELING BY TRAIN TO CALIFORNIA. IN ADDITION, THE GERMANTOWN NAVAJO RUGS WERE MADE WITH DYES SUPPLIED BY A COMPANY IN GERMANTOWN, PA. OFTEN, DYES WERE BARTERED TO THE NAVAJOS, WITH NAVAJO RUGS AS PAYMENT. THUS, THE INFLUX OF NAVAJO STYLE HOOKED RUGS BACK EAST. THESE RUGS, BECAUSE OF THEIR SIMPLE, GEOMETRIC NATURE, COULD BE MADE ALMOST ANY SIZE AND USE WHATEVER DYED FABRICS WERE LAYING ABOUT.  A taupe,medium beige field  is the  background for this amazing rug..  Zigzag patterns made up of  blues, turquoise , browns, pinks, rust, greens, olive, black, and  maroon..  Black border. Excellent colors. Makes the, rug so interesting.  Suitable for all rooms. Comes in all the standard sizes..
